The US Government did not cause the Wuhan Flu pandemic. Thank the Chinese Communists for that.

What American politicians have done by shutting-in healthy people and closing businesses is to financially cripple families and destroy privately owned enterprises. The unemployed and locked-down owners have lost their assets while still having to pay government employee salaries many of whom are not even working.

What could the government do to make it worse? Engage in some crony capitalism. A strange ailment affects council members and supervisors that talk conservative but spend and vote like liberals.

Sutter County Supervisors after closing thousands of stores and shops now want to go into the lending business by taking $250,000 from the taxpayers to offer interest-free loans up to $20,000 for 36 months. The county will use the Yuba-Sutter Economic Development Corporation (EDC) to do the paperwork. Loans will be made on a first come, first serve basis.

If 20 enterprises are helped they would receive an average of $12,500 each. Who would get the help and who wouldn’t? Supervisors would have influence in who would cash-in. And, what about the remaining enterprises and nonprofits left destitute by a government playing financial suicide to stop a virus?

Everybody loves easy money. Some will remember in 2007 when businessman Dan Flores, now a Sutter County Supervisor, and political campaign manager Crystal Martin engaged in some self-dealing while serving as board members of the EDC. They applied for a low interest loan of $150,000.

When they were informed it was a conflict of interest to get loans as board members they resigned from the board to take the money.

Once off the board they applied for two more loans $144,200 for Martin and $113,500 for Flores at 3% interest rate. However, the loan requests were eventually withdrawn by Flores and Martin after state attorneys said that Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development conflict-of-interest rules require board members to be off the board for one year to participate in that funding program.

Insiders know how to get tax dollars for personal gain. They have an unfair advantage at obtaining ‘government funding’ otherwise known as the people’s money taken by force.

Are the supervisors thinking that giving other people’s money to a few constituents is worth it even if they save one business? New York Governor Cuomo said that his extreme quarantine measures even if they cause an economic collapse were worth it if he saved just one life.

That is absurd and he is a liar.

We don’t trade our autos for horses when 35,000 people are killed on the roadways annually. We don’t stop using pain killers when 70,000 people die from overdoses. And we don’t quarantine the healthy when losing 60,000 during the ‘normal’ flu season. What we have lost is our mind.

When Gov. Cuomo signed an abortion bill permitting the killing of babies (2017- New York abortions 105,380) through all stages of viability, death does not leave the governor sleepless. Abortion clinics are considered ‘essential services’ by our Wuhan Flu leaders.

Another cockamamie move by Sutter County Supervisors is to take $10,000 of the people’s money, buy gift cards from local restaurants, and give them to county employees as a bonus for a job-well-done. Why would anyone work for the private sector with benefits like this?

If supervisors spent their money to give county employees a bonus, then Jesus said good-on-you, just don’t brag about it. But, reaching into the pockets of taxpayers to give well-paid govt. workers a compliment is rude and should be criminal.

There are literally hundreds of struggling restaurants out there. How will they equitably benefit? And, why do the restaurants have to belong to the Chamber of Commerce to get on the Supervisor’s gift card list?

Government is expert at screwing people. The supervisors could help most by taking fewer taxes and doing less. People, like deer after hunting season, are relieved when politicians are out of session.

The unemployed and broke business owners are in shock knowing their own government overnight ruined their lives to stop the flu. Watch for a government spin campaign saying that the pandemic wasn’t as bad as we expected but these oppressive measures were a must to avoid utter destruction. Yes, and government will suddenly need to be bigger to save us all the next time.
