The Yuba-Sutter area has achieved national recognition for some horrific tragedies. The Juan Corona murders starting May 19,1971, (when the first body found) killing 25; the Yuba City High School bus crash May 26, 1971 killing 29; the Lindhurst High School Shooting on May 1, 1992 killing 4.

In San Francisco for a fundraiser on April 6, 2008, democrat candidate for president, Barack Obama slammed working-class voters in the rust belt crippled by job losses. He said, “They get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”

There is no other unresolved case creating more suspicion and doubt about law enforcement and the judicial system of Yuba-Sutter Counties than the Sara Matthews Easton death. Did she shoot herself? Was it an accident? Is someone else a suspect? Or, did her husband, Aaron, the former Marysville Chief of Police kill her.

Colleges in America are in trouble and the recent Yuba College Measure C Bond failure showed their desperate predicament. Colleges are burying future generations with bond debt and current students with loan debt.

More dangerous than a dirty cop is a dirty judicial system. Justice delayed is justice denied.

Most wonder why foreigners coming here legally or illegally can order from the public benefits menu for US citizens. It was not always this way. Furthermore, people question why politicians of either party do not correct the egregious giveaway of taxpayer dollars.
