Yuba County Counsel Michael J. Ciccozzi wrote an opinion piece in the Appeal Democrat last week to explain why Nevada County law firm Colantuono, Highsmith and Whatley, PC, did not file Yuba’s Measure K (sales tax increase) brief with the Appellate Court on time.

They persuade that it is merciful to murder the smallest and most vulnerable, sterilize women, and spread abortifacient pills far and wide to thin the herd.

A video posted on Facebook showed Third District Assemblyman James Gallagher attempting to purchase two cartons of shotgun shells at Sutter Orchard Supply, the popular farm and sporting goods store in Yuba City. Gallagher, a hunter, is no novice at purchasing ammo, but now in Commifornia he was rejected.

In 1978, Californians voted to change the way their property was being taxed saving thousands of owners from losing their homes and commercial real estate. In the 1970’s, due to a combination of severe inflation, population growth, and increased housing demand properties were routinely reassessed spiking taxes. 

An epidemic of taxes, fees and egregious regulatory obstacles have afflicted the lives of citizens though not the care of law makers or environmentalists. In fact, extreme greenies pray people leave so the state may return to the wild. 

California and Virginia legislatures, both with democrat majorities, are assaulting the Second Amendment, the right to firearms. California continues to pass laws hindering the use of guns -- mandating background checks to purchase weapons, sell them and now buy ammo. 

The seventy-four-year-old Garamendi was first elected to the California Assembly in 1974. He entered politics after graduating from college and serving two years in the Peace Corps. Garamendi has also been elected to the State Senate, as Insurance Commissioner and Lt. Governor of California. He was appointed to be Deputy Secretary of the Interior under President Bill Clinton.
